History of idents P1

  The BBC Television service first took place in November 1936. The producers and managers were so overwhelmed with the creative possibilities of the medium. 10 months later is when the thought of an on screen identity emerged. The first piece for the identity was The Tuning Symbol. It was merely a circle and a line followed by the words 'BBC Television Service'.  This is what the observer said about the tuning signal picture: " The new tuning signal picture, which was brought into use last week, looks as if a BBC artist had tried to outdo the most modern of the moderns. Actually its grouping of cubes and circles is designed to allow the picture in the receiver to be correctly proportioned. It is transmitted for five minutes before each programme". - 26 September 1937. Evaluation

  The Christmas and Halloween ident have been completed by using  The animation software I used was called Animaker and it  was free which was an advantage to me. After I finished making the  rough draft Animaker I had to screen record it from my Mac and then  transfer them onto the school Macs by using a USB. The reason I  transferred my idents over was because the school have Final Cut Pro  which i needed. By having Final Cut Pro I can add music and voice overs to my ident which will improve it. It was a tough experience but  it was also interesting to learn about Final Cut Pro. My idents are made for BBC only. Both idents are for children as its on a children/teenager programme. The feedback I got was to add music to it which I did. The idents are good but rushed as I ran out of time. This teaches me for the future to manage my time correctly so everything goes smoothly and to plan. I put the drafts on Youtube for the audience to give me feedba...

Initial research into audio visual products LO2 - P2

 ITV stands for Independent Television. There are many shows on ITV including classic coronation street, Emmerdale, Man about the house etc.  ITVs target audience is older people as they show a lot of classics like coronation street. It is a British free-to-air television channel owned and operated by ITV plc. As you can see above, the logo hasn't got bright colours. It looks more for adults as its dull and simple. The current ident is colourful and bright, completely the opposite to the logo. The purpose is to attract as their current logo is very plain. So by using a colourful ident it looks more appealing. CBBC stands for children's BBC. It is a British free-to-air children's television channel owned and operated by the BBC. The content is for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17.
