 Process of making the idents

When planning my idents I had to choose a animating software to work with. My first choice was Scratch and I went with it. It didn't go as plan because it was too hard to use. After searching long and hard for a new animating software, I found a website called Animaker. It allowed me to do what I had to do and most of it was free. When getting ready to start creating the idents, a disadvantage was that the school computers would not work with the website as the internet connection is too slow. My backup plan was to bring my laptop to school and that's what I did.

New animating software

Firstly I had to get used to the new animating software, it was also hard as I've never done anything to do with animation before. I slowly figured out how to use it, there was a mini clip at the beginning to get me started. I started putting the idents together, I started with the Christmas first. I was getting images from the internet as there wasn't much I could work with. When getting audience feedback, they said I should use characters from different CCBC shows which I done on Final Cut Pro.

Final Editing

When I finished making two drafts on Animaker, to save them I screen recorded them from my MacBook and then transferred them with a USB which I got from school. The USB that I needed is the one that fits into the Macs in school. The school Macs play a massive part as it will be used to carry out the post production. Final Cut Pro is installed on all school Macs which is an advantage for me because it is really expensive if I wanted it on my own laptop. When editing the idents on Final Cut Pro I added the background music which couldn't be done on Animaker. The characters from different shows on CBBC were also put on.
