Post production - Sound report

https://youtu.be/RzjZ-WdVeyk I got this Christmas track from YouTube and I chose it because it matched my ident and most importantly it was copyright free. When searching for it I made sure to search 'copyright free' as copyright is wrong and illegal and should not be taken without consent from the owner. When searching for Christmas songs I made sure it fit well with my ident. This is why it took me a while (around 20 minutes). Music is one of the most important things for an ident as that's what sets the mood and completes it, without music it wont feel right and will feel incomplete.  I edited my ident on Final cut pro. I had to get the music from YouTube and then convert it into an MP3, the way I done this was by going on the internet to look for a free MP3 converter. It took me a while to find a good one because a lot of them didn't work or weren't actually free.

Post production - edits and transitions report

As you can see I have gone with animation for my idents. This means I have to create my idea from scratch on my MacBook instead of filming with a camera like others in my class. The picture above is a rough draft of my Christmas ident, at that point I was messing around trying to figure out how to use all the features as it was my first time using Animaker. I was trying to transition it to the next scene smoothly so it looks as real as possible. In the picture you can see a letter C, this is for the programme I was doing (CBBC). For each slide I was spelling it out with different Christmas animations to keep the Christmas theme going and to make it stand out. The transitions were very hard to make because it each scene was on a different slide. I added fade transitions to make it look natural as possible.

Post production - process report

As I was doing animation for my two idents, the equipment being used was my own laptop and the school computer. My laptop was for the pre production and production part and the school computer was for post production. When doing these tasks I had to make sure I was following the health and safety hazards. This includes having no water near the laptop and computers has it can create a fire hazard. Also by taking breaks to not get eyestrain.   Process of making the idents When planning my idents I had to choose a animating software to work with. My first choice was Scratch and I went with it. It didn't go as plan because it was too hard to use. After searching long and hard for a new animating software, I found a website called Animaker. It allowed me to do what I had to do and most of it was free. When getting ready to start creating the idents, a disadvantage was that the school computers would not work with the website as the internet connection is too slow. My backup plan was to

Evaluation

The Christmas and Halloween ident have been completed by using  The animation software I used was called Animaker and it  was free which was an advantage to me. After I finished making the  rough draft Animaker I had to screen record it from my Mac and then  transfer them onto the school Macs by using a USB. The reason I  transferred my idents over was because the school have Final Cut Pro  which i needed. By having Final Cut Pro I can add music and voice overs to my ident which will improve it. It was a tough experience but  it was also interesting to learn about Final Cut Pro. My idents are made for BBC only. Both idents are for children as its on a children/teenager programme. The feedback I got was to add music to it which I did. The idents are good but rushed as I ran out of time. This teaches me for the future to manage my time correctly so everything goes smoothly and to plan. I put the drafts on Youtube for the audience to give me feedback on. Overall I think doing animation
